"My name is John Jacobson and I'm asking for your support as I campaign to represent California's District 2 in the United States Congress.
Today, our nation is energized by an exhilarating presidential campaign.
It is gripped by new hope and a strong desire for change. Young people are taking action, registering voters and capturing the internet to broadcast their demand for a new direction, seniors are responding to a call for fresh possibilities, middle class families are feeling hope for a brighter future. The citizens of my home in California are mobilizing to be part of this exciting change.
I have had the good fortune of traveling extensively in and around our beautiful United States. And, this year, more than ever, there is a voice I hear from the citizens of America. The voice says "yes!"
Now, I'm asking for your support. Can we re-claim the uplifting spirit of America enjoyed by our parents and grandparents? Can we promise our children that we will work together to leave them an even more perfect union? With your support, I feel confident that the answer is "yes!"
Children have been my life's work: The needs of children and their families will be foremost in every vote I make. Although they are 25 percent of our population they are 100 percent of our future and they deserve our best faith efforts. The concerns of farmers, businessmen, health professionals, environmentalists, forest workers, and every other interest group will be addressed more effectively if the focus is on solutions with the long term benefits needed to make life better for our next generation, our children.
